Special services

Can I request assistance if I have a hearing, visual, or intellectual disability?

Yes, you can request assistance if you have any of the following disabilities:

  • Hearing disability: people who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Visual disability: people who are blind or have low vision
  • Intellectual or neurodivergent disability: people on the autism spectrum, with Down syndrome, ADHD, or cognitive disorders related to aging (Alzheimer’s, dementia)
  • Any other related medical diagnosis.

Please inform us of your disability when:

  • When purchasing your ticket on avianca.com, select "Personalize your trip," choose "special assistance," and select the option that best suits your needs.
  • If you already purchased your ticket, we recommend notifying us at least 24 hours before your flight departure:
    • Go to Manage your booking, scroll down to "What else can you do with your booking?" and select "Special Services," then add the appropriate disability information.
    • You can also let us know by calling our Contact Center.
  • On the day of your trip, visit the airport counter at the "Special Assistance" modules, and one of our agents will assist you.

Please note

    • We cannot offer you a seat in the emergency exit row for safety reasons.
    • If you cannot understand or follow safety instructions, you must have a companion during the flight.
