Voluntary refunds (based on the consumer's own will, applying their own fare conditions or applicable laws), apply when you decide to retract or cancel a ticket purchased in accordance with the law that applies in your country. Below, you will find important information to request your refund, depending on the applicable case.
When you make a purchase using non-traditional or remote methods that you have not yet used or consumed, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase. If you withdraw from your purchase, we will refund you the full amount you paid, without any discounts or deductions. (Excluded from the amount to be refunded are the administrative fee and any fees, taxes or contributions which by regulation are not refundable).
Please note that the maximum term to exercise the right of withdrawal will be five (5) business days from the time of purchase, provided that the flight does not start within this time. The refund will be made within thirty (30) calendar days from the time you request the withdrawal of the purchase and it is processed.
This only applies to Colombia.
If you make your purchase directly with us or through your travel agency, you can request a refund for withdrawal at least 24 hours before your trip. This request must only be made by the person making the purchase.
- A withholding shall be applied in accordance with the fare rule, not exceeding 10% of the value of the base fare including the "Q" for Fuel.
- Please note that the withdrawal applies only to the XXL fare, and does not apply to our promotional fares (XS, S, M and L) or ancillaries (additional services).
- You can notify us of your intention to withdraw from the trip through any sales channel (Contact Center, Direct Sales Outlets and/or Travel Agency).
- If the ticket was purchased directly, it can only be withdrawn by informing the airline.
- The reimbursement will be made effective within thirty (30) days from the date of notification, in services of the airline. (Resolution 01375 of June 11, 2015 - Special Administrative Unit Civil Aeronautics.
This only applies to Colombia.
In all cases, your refund request must always be made through the refund form on our website. If your ticket was purchased through a travel agency, you must request your refund directly from your travel agency.

When you buy a ticket in any sales channel and/or your Contract of Carriage originates in Colombia, you can cancel the flight up to 24 hours before the start of the flight. Remember to check the conditions of your size, because if it is a promotional fare this benefit does not apply, learn more about the types of sizes. The airline and/or travel agents must reimburse the money to the passenger within a maximum period of thirty (30) calendar days from the communication of the cancellation. |

- While the state of emergency is in effect for Colombia, refunds will be charged to the Avianca UATP Card for the total value of the ticket not flown and may be used for the purchase of tickets or airline services.
