Do I need an International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever to travel to another country?

Some countries require travelers to present an International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever as an entry requirement. Therefore, it is essential to verify this information according to your destination or transit country, and any stays in endemic or high-risk areas, always checking the official channels of health authorities, consulates, or embassies.

Keep in mind that, unless otherwise specified by each country’s regulations, the vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before the start of your trip. For this reason, we recommend checking this well in advance.

Who needs to be vaccinated?

  • Currently, countries such as Aruba, Curaçao, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua require this vaccine for travelers to enter. Other destinations like Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, and Paraguay may request it depending on the country you are traveling from.
  • Travelers to Costa Rica: Starting in May 2025, Costa Rica requires the vaccine for all travelers arriving from Colombia and vice versa. This requirement will be extended to more countries starting August 31, 2025. Check more information.

Important:

Regulations are established by each country’s authorities and may change at any time. Therefore, we encourage you to always verify the requirements for your destination or stopover directly with the appropriate authorities before traveling.
