If your baggage exceeds the established weight or dimensions, you will need to pay an additional fee depending on the route. Keep in mind that baggage is considered oversized or overweight when it exceeds the allowed measurements and weight for checked baggage (23 kg in Economy class, 32 kg in business class, or 158 linear cm).
For flights to and from Europe, the maximum weight allowed for overweight baggage is 32 kg; on other routes, the limit is 45 kg. If your baggage exceeds these limits, we suggest transporting it with avianca cargo.

During the low season (20-jan-2025 to 04-apr-2025, 16-apr-2025 to 15-jun-2025, 06-aug-2025 to 23-nov-2025), for the routes Guayaquil - New York - Guayaquil, San Salvador - Ontario - San Salvador, San Salvador - Los Angeles - San Salvador, San Salvador - San Francisco - San Salvador, San Salvador - Washington - San Salvador, San Salvador - New York - San Salvador you may register up to a fifth additional baggage. While during the high season you can only register up to a third additional baggage. Take into account that from the third piece onwards they'd will be subject to space/conditional (standby).
