Flying with kids

What is the baggage allowance for children and babies?

The allowed baggage depends on whether the child travels with a child or infant ticket:

  • Children (between 2 and 11 years old): will be able to bring the baggage included in their fare.
  • Infants (under 2 years old): Infants may carry one personal item at no additional cost—this can be a small backpack or diaper bag—in addition to the adult’s personal item. If you need to bring extra baggage under the name of the adult traveling with the infant, you can purchase it via Manage your booking, during check-in, or directly at the airport.

For tickets purchased before December 19, 2025:

  • If the adult is flying on a Classic, Flex, or Business fare, they can check one additional baggage item up to 10 kg (22 lb) for the infant.
  • If the adult is traveling on a Basic or Light fare, the infant cannot check baggage. However, the infant may always bring one personal item (small bag/backpack/diaper bag), regardless of the fare purchased.
  • If you make voluntary changes to a ticket purchased before December 19, 2025, the 10 kg checked baggage for the infant is still included.

Diaper bag or small backpack:

  • If you’re traveling with an infant and bringing a diaper bag, it won’t incur a charge, as it is considered the infant’s personal item.
  • The maximum dimensions for this item are 46 × 36 × 20 cm (18 × 14 × 8 in) — height, length, and width
  • Make sure it fits under the front seat.

Stroller:

  • You may bring a stroller (or foldable wagon) to the boarding gate at no additional cost. The use of strollers/wagons is allowed for babies and children up to 11 years old. An additional fee will apply starting at age 12.
  • If the baby stroller or wagon does not exceed 115 cm (46 in) in linear dimensions and weighs up to 10 kg (22 lb), it may be carried in the cabin subject to availability. Strollers or wagons that exceed these measurements or weight must be transported in the aircraft hold at no additional cost, as long as the passenger is under 12 years old.
  • Please note that only one baby stroller per baby/child is allowed at no additional cost. If you need to bring more than one, an additional charge will apply.

Car seat:

  • The transport of car seats on our aircraft is allowed for infants (under 2 years old) at no additional cost on all our routes. The car seat must meet these dimensions: 68 × 35 × 43 cm (27 × 14 × 17 in) — height, length, and width — to be carried in the cabin. If it exceeds these dimensions, it must be checked as baggage and additional charges will apply.
  • If it meets the stipulated dimensions but needs to be checked as baggage, our team will receive it and assist you in registering it as baggage at no additional cost.

Please note:

  • If the infant requires a seat, you must purchase a child ticket (not an infant ticket), and they must travel in an approved child restraint seat with a built-in safety harness. To ensure this, check that it has the following label: “certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.” Restrictions apply depending on the aircraft configuration.
  • In compliance with FAA regulations, on routes to and from the United States, including connecting flights, car seats are allowed at no additional cost for passengers up to 18 years old. To be used in the cabin, the car seat must meet the required certifications and adhere to the established dimensions: 68 × 35 × 43 cm (27 × 14 × 17 in) — height, length, and width —. If it does not meet these requirements, it must be checked in and transported in the hold.
  • It's important to note that the car seat must be approved for use on airplanes and must have labels demonstrating its “certification for motor vehicles and aircraft,” as specified by the FAA.
