If your flight is affected by an operational irregularity, avianca may provide you with a digital meal coupon (ICoupon) that you can use at authorized airport establishments. This coupon is loaded directly onto your boarding pass and is intended for the purchase of food and non-alcoholic beverages, in accordance with each country’s regulations.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE PROVISION OF MEAL SERVICE THROUGH ICOUPON
1. Purpose
These Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) govern the use of the digital meal voucher known as iCoupon, issued by Avianca S.A. and its operating airlines, in order to provide assistance to passengers affected by an operational irregularity that justifies the provision of meals, in accordance with the policy and regulations of each country.
2. Scope
These T&Cs apply to passengers whose itinerary has been affected by an internal or external cause, as defined in the applicable regulations of each country, and who, as a result of such disruption, are entitled to meal service through iCoupon. The iCoupon will be digitally loaded onto the passenger’s boarding pass and can be redeemed at affiliated establishments within the corresponding airport.
3. Definitions
- iCoupon: Non-transferable digital voucher, loaded directly onto the passenger’s boarding pass, redeemable for food and non-alcoholic beverages at authorized locations.
- Internal cause: Failures or situations under the direct control of the airline that affect operations.
- External cause: Events beyond the airline’s direct control that affect operations.
- Eligible passenger: Traveler who has initiated the transportation contract and is in a situation of irregularity recognized by Avianca.
4. Conditions for the use of iCoupon
- The voucher may only be used at the airport where it is issued, on the same calendar day, and for the amount determined by Avianca according to the country and the nature of the disruption.
- The iCoupon can only be redeemed at a single affiliated establishment.
- If the consumption exceeds the amount granted by the iCoupon, the passenger must pay the difference directly to the establishment.
- Not valid for alcoholic beverages.
- The iCoupon is not redeemable for cash, EMD, or miles, and cannot be used in duty-free shops or transferred to other passengers.
- If the passenger does not use the iCoupon within its validity period, it will be considered redeemed, with no further claims accepted.
5. Eligibility
iCoupons will only be issued to passengers affected by irregularities duly registered in internal systems (Amadeus CM).
iCoupons do not apply to:
- Infants (under 2 years old without an assigned seat).

Passengers whose disruption is attributable to their own responsibility, such as failing to present themselves on time for the flight or other breaches of the transportation conditions.
However, in the case of inadmissible passengers, meal assistance via iCoupon may only be provided when expressly required by the laws or regulations of the country where the inadmissibility occurred.
- Standby passengers or those traveling on complimentary tickets, except with express authorization from the Customer Protection Center (CPC).
6. Special Provisions
- Avianca may modify, suspend, or cancel the issuance of iCoupons due to force majeure, unforeseen events, or operational conditions that so require, without generating compensation obligations. Only the CPC may authorize iCoupons outside the current policy in the following cases:
- · Senior passengers (60 years or older)
- Persons with disabilities or reduced mobility
- Special cases
- The use of the iCoupon implies acceptance of these T&Cs, as well as those stated in Avianca’s Contract of Carriage.
7. Data Processing
By accepting the iCoupon, the passenger authorizes the processing of their personal data in accordance with Avianca’s privacy policy.
