Can I reschedule my flight due to illness or a force majeure event if I purchased it with Lifemiles?

Yes. If you are unable to travel due to an illness or a force majeure event, you can request a flight change through this form.

Once your request has been approved, you may reschedule your flight within 90 days of the affected flight date, with no change fee. Any applicable fare difference must be covered by the customer.

Illness

You may request a flight change if the medical event affects you, a family member*, or your travel companion traveling under the same itinerary, provided the following conditions are met:

  • The ticket was purchased before the medical event occurred.
  • The medical event occurred before or during the trip.
  • The event is not related to a cosmetic procedure or a scheduled tooth extraction.

What documents do you need?

  • If the medical event affects a family member, a document proving the family relationship.
  • A medical certificate or medical leave document issued by a healthcare provider, including:
    • Medical stamp.
    • Reason for the medical leave or procedure.
    • Patient's name.
    • Date of the medical event or medical leave demonstrating that it affects the flight.

* Applicable family members: parents, spouse, children, grandparents, siblings, and grandchildren.

Death

You may request a flight change if the passenger, a family member*, or a travel companion passed away before or during the trip.

What documents do you need?

  • Death certificate.
  • Document proving the family relationship, when applicable.

Please note

  • If there is no availability in the same booking class corresponding to your ticket issued with Lifemiles, a fare difference may apply for the new flight option selected.
  • To request an exception, reschedule your flight, or request a refund due to a force majeure event, you have 90 days from the affected flight date. Please note that this period must fall within your ticket's validity, which is one year from the purchase date.
