Thanks to the interline and codeshare alliances with GOL Linhas Aéreas, you can easily connect flights from the avianca and GOL networks in a single transaction, in a single currency, and with a single ticket, to reach more destinations with guaranteed connections. Here are some important points to keep in mind if your reservation is part of this alliance.
Learn some key aspects before your trip:
- If you made your purchase with avianca, you can check who is operating each segment of your itinerary by entering Manage your booking, with your reservation code and last name as it appears on your purchase confirmation.
- If you made your purchase with GOL, you can check which airline will operate each flight on your itinerary by accessing My trips, using your reservation code or ticket number, origin of your flight and last name as it appears on your purchase confirmation.
- Passengers under 16 years of age may not travel unaccompanied on flights operated by GOL.
- Request additional checked baggage and sports baggage service from the airline operating the first leg of your booking through its contact channels or directly at the airport.
Depending on the airline where you purchased your ticket, you can see below which services you can add to your booking.
If you made your purchase with avianca and need services on flights operated by GOL:
In the following table, you will find the additional services that you can purchase for flights operated by GOL within your reservation. You can obtain them through the GOL website or call center. On a codeshare flight, some services may only be available for purchase at the airport.
If you want to add additional baggage or sports equipment to your booking, please note that you can only do so at the airport.
If you made your purchase with GOL and need services on flights operated by avianca:
In the following table, you’ll find the additional services you can purchase for flights operated by avianca within your reservation. You can buy them during online check-in when avianca is the first airline on your itinerary, through the Contact center, or directly at the avianca counter at the airport.
Keep in minda that you can only purchase the seats through the Contact Center or at the airport. In addition, on codeshare flights, some services can only be requested at the airport.
- Voluntary changes: If you made your purchase with avianca and need to change your booking, please contact our Contact center or do so at our points of sale. If you made your reservation through a travel agency, you will need to contact them to request the change.
- If your first flight is operated by avianca: You can check-in online from any device or in person at our airport kiosks or counters; you can also drop off your checked baggage there. Please note that airport charges may apply depending on the fare you purchased.
If you purchased your ticket with GOL but your flight is operated by avianca, you’ll need the avianca (AV) booking code to check in. Refer to the image below to find the booking code and other important details on your GOL ticket.
- If the first flight is operated by GOL: you can check in using either the avianca or GOL booking code on their website or at the airport.
- If you are a Lifemiles member, enter your number in your reservation or during check-in and you will be able to earn miles when flying with Gol. You can also redeem your Lifemiles miles for tickets on segments operated by Gol.
- If you are a Smiles member and enter your number in your reservation or during check-in, you will be able to earn miles when flying with avianca. Use your Smiles miles to redeem tickets on segments operated by avianca.
